Nope. Top younger boys teams are at Soccerplex, and many of their second teams as well. The top younger girls are primarily at Muldoons. As usual.

I don't have anything to do with this tournament, other than having my son play there in the past, at awful Muldoons. I can't wrap my head around posts like this. It's simply not true.

The schedule is posted, with fields, and anyone can look it up. U9 and U10 boys are at farm fields. U9, U10, and U11 girls are at farm fields (with a couple exceptions). Older age groups for boys and girls are NOT at farm fields and almost exclusively at the soccerplex. it has nothing to do with top teams or second teams. Nor is it gender related. There are more boys teams in the lower age groups so the number of teams playing on farm fields between boys and girls is similar. And just to reiterate, those fields are terrible. If it hasn't changed in three years, the goals are literally rusty pipes, set on uneven pitches, with holes and terrible grass.

Last time our team was in this tournament they only had two refs per field. That was U15. Glad we didn't go back.

For one Aspire is weak and two, have you looked at Potomac this year? They haven’t won a game and have been blown out in nearly every one. They’re absolutely terrible. They shouldn’t be anywhere but the bottom. They’ve lost multiple games by 7-9 goals against teams that aren’t even good.

Why is there a GA Aspire which is a 2nd team and a DPL ranked in the 700s in the top bracket of the U17 and Bethesda ECNL team in the 2nd playing teams that are ranked in the 900s???

Is that the type of turnout Bethesda Cup is getting? Top bracket is low level GA Aspire and DPL teams? No other ECNL or GA teams? What about the other age groups?

Recruiting year U16 turnout is abysmal. Bethesda Cup was great years ago. I think Clubs are just passing on this Showcase for the ECNL and PDA Showcase events. Not really Bethesda's fault.

GA is also running a Showcase for U12-U14 in Florida this weekend now. A few clubs sent 1st teams dow there for that.

There’s some, but none of the top brackets are strong across the board. All have some combination of Aspire/RL/NL teams plus there’s weak GA teams in the top at some ages, for example.

I think it’s just a matter of competition from ECNL and GA events plus WAGS a month prior. There’s only so much room for another player in the market.
