| So what exactly is the point of this thread? Just lists and lists of sports? |
| MSer is on 3 teams, but all for the same sport. School, rec, and a select (but not travel) team that runs alongside rec. Does rec and select 3 seasons. |
| 7th grade DS does year-round soccer, school cross country team in the fall, rec basketball in the winter, and rec flag football in the spring. |
|
In 9th grade DS did freshmen football, varsity wrestling, and JV soccer.
After that, he did travel soccer in the fall, wrestling, and HS soccer in the spring. Occasional open wrestling tournament in the spring/summer or late fall. When in middle school DD did volleyball in the fall, basketball in the winter, and lacrosse in the spring. When she got to high school, she did volleyball in the spring and winter, and lacrosse in the spring. Eventually, it became volleyball year round. |

I would have loved mountain biking as an option. Unrelated - Are boys embarrassed to play flag football instead of regular football? |
|
12th: zero. Used to be 2 but dropped all by 16 for a job, driving and social life. And that’s okay.
9th: 1. HS and club volleyball all year. |
DP and my son did flag and then tackle. No, no embarrassment. They are completely different sports. One is a sport of speed and running, which he was not into because he was not super fast. He enjoyed the plays and strategy and teamwork of football and liked tackle so much more because there is more to it than just speed. |
