If in middle or high, how many sports did your child do?

DS1: MS cross country, indoor track, outdoor track. Travel soccer, winter futsal. HS will drop soccer and focus on running.

DS2: MS soccer, indoor track, tennis. Rec basketball, travel soccer, winter futsal. HS likely indoor track and tennis.

MS - XC and soccer in fall, basketball in winter, track in spring. AAU basketball year round.


HS - HS summer league basketball in summer, HS fall league in fall, HS regular team in winter, AAU basketball in spring and summer.

Year round swimming and tennis until 7-8th grade then swimming got dropped and only tennis year round from then on

MSer is on 3 teams, but all for the same sport. School, rec, and a select (but not travel) team that runs alongside rec. Does rec and select 3 seasons.

7th grade DS does year-round soccer, school cross country team in the fall, rec basketball in the winter, and rec flag football in the spring.

In 9th grade DS did freshmen football, varsity wrestling, and JV soccer.

After that, he did travel soccer in the fall, wrestling, and HS soccer in the spring. Occasional open wrestling tournament in the spring/summer or late fall.

When in middle school DD did volleyball in the fall, basketball in the winter, and lacrosse in the spring. When she got to high school, she did volleyball in the spring and winter, and lacrosse in the spring. Eventually, it became volleyball year round.

12th: zero. Used to be 2 but dropped all by 16 for a job, driving and social life. And that’s okay.

9th: 1. HS and club volleyball all year.

DP and my son did flag and then tackle. No, no embarrassment. They are completely different sports. One is a sport of speed and running, which he was not into because he was not super fast. He enjoyed the plays and strategy and teamwork of football and liked tackle so much more because there is more to it than just speed.

HS- nothing

Too much HW in HS. He did have too much HW in MS too but he really liked rowing so...
