Yes, seriously, is the app owned by christian scientists or something? |
The pay must be really good. |
| Hollywood is dying a slow death. Theaters are empty and nobody shows up unless it’s a big franchise movie. The original movies I’m seeing on Netflix seem to be getting cheaper looking without a lot of A list stars. |
| Also a lot of the ad dollars are slowly being taken by influencers who are cheaper. |
| I love Katherine Heigl (I know she is not really A list) for Poise. I feel like it's on brand for her in the best way. Have zero respect for the ones hawking crypto and lottery type crap. |
Agree. Plus she's an early Me-Too person so her ability to get acting gigs was compromised by standing up for what's right. She retains all the cred. |
| What about Serena Williams and the weight loss drug? She has a net worth of $300 million. I don't see why she'd bother promoting pharmaceuticals. |
I think for something like that, it must be partly personal. She probably feels really helped by the drug and wants to take the stigma out. Obviously, I’m not saying she’d do it for free. The money of course, but it’s probably also a passion for the product. The crypto and the phone plans and crap that’s a pure money grab. |
I think she owns part of the company. All of these celebrities have side businesses now, selling makeup, lingerie, hair products you name it. |
| Are you kidding? Actors have been doing advertisements since the beginning of TV. |
|
Where do you see ads?
|
Husband was watching the baseball plays. That's where I saw the Serena ads. |
After seeing credible actors debase themselves plugging Royal Kingdom, I can see why - I really think much less of any actors plugging this dodgy game app … |
I assume you are being deliberately obtuse? Network TV has ads and so do streaming services unless you pay a higher rate, which I'm not going to do. On streaming I appreciate the countdown timer for the ad break, so I know how much time I have to get up and do something. I miss it on network TV. |
| Christina Hendricks in a pop up ad for some random tech company… bc when you think of CH, you think of tech?? |
