Workout 1 hour every morning (Peloton)
Skincare routine is simple: AM vitamin C serum and oil+hydrosol on face, sunscreen
PM: Olay cream with retinol
I use box color for my hair and trim at home.

What peloton workout do you do or do you just ride the bike?

Age 48

I run about 20-25 miles a week and go to a yoga class every now and then. Running is free, yoga is about $18/class.

Demi-permanent hair color and cut every six weeks. $170, doesn’t feel worth it. My hair looks terrible.

Expensive tinted moisturizer, concealer, and blush. Drug store mascara. Probably spend $100 every few months.

Drug store moisturizers, which are creeping up in price lately. Another $100 every few months.

I’m resisting visiting a dermatologist for more powerful stuff/procedures just because it feels like once you buy into it, it’s hard to stop. I wish we could just age proudly.

Age 43, living outside US in a cheaper place.

Hair: Cut and highlights every 12 weeks (but think I’m going to have to move to 10 weeks to cover up grays). I blow out and curl my hair myself for special events or dates. Hair: $139 every 12 weeks

Skin: Botox in crows, 11s, forehead, every 12 weeks $500, tretinoin nightly (like $3 per 3 months, it’s dirt cheap). Sunscreen daily in AM, neutrogena, $6 a month. Kiehls ultra facial moisturizer when my face feels dry. Otherswise I have a ton of gifted fancy face stuff I use sporadically for fun but it doesn’t really do anything.

Teeth: I got SmileDirect during the pandemic, so I wear a retainer at night for straight teeth. Semi annual teeth cleaning ($70) and Crest White Strips ($25), with a monthly touch up.

Fitness: Run 3-4x/week (outside or in apt gym), spin 1x ($10)/wk, Padel 2x/week ($20). Watch what I eat to stay around 22 or 23 bmi.

Makeup: bronzer, setting powder, blush, brow pencil and gel, eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara when I go to work or leave house for everything but bum errands.

Clothes: I have a lot of cute clothes.

I use and vitamin C serum on face in morning, Retin-A in the evening, moisturizer, sunscreen. I use sunscreen no That is my skincare routine in a nutshell. I get 1-2 rounds of IPL (laser) to face in the fall. My skin looks great. No fillers or Botox. I will probably add neck and chest to the IPL sessions going forward.

As for fitness, I am in pretty good shape, weight is healthy and I look objectively good. I only workout twice per week, but they are super intense workouts. Otherwise, I just try to be active: clean my own house, do yard work, go for walks and bike rides. I should lift more weights though.

Oh, to add I don’t color hair or do nails. Therefore my beauty cost isn’t that high. I get a $100 haircut every 4-6 months. The yearly IPL is $300/session.

I wash my face about three times a week. Shower about twice a week. About four times a year I get my hair dyed - I go to a school so it costs under $100.

Do you not have a spouse?

Your BMI is 19! And you are on a semaglutide? WTH. Do you not care about your health and bone density?

I am 59.
I teach 8 hot yoga/barre/sculpt classes a week and when I'm not doing that I golf and walk.
I use sparse oil and Vitamin C on my face when I remember and sunscreen every day - I'm a natural redhead.
I color my own hair every 6 weeks and get it cut twice a year. It's very long and it's just easier for me to have long hair.
No botox or fillers - feel like that shipped sailed.
I microdose tirz and love it. I have an inflammatory condition it has helped with immensely.
I do my nails myself but because I teach barefoot I have a pedicure every 6 weeks.
One of the BEST things I have done for myself this year is give up alcohol. People comment on how my skin looks better.

Late 40s, 5’10/145.

I ride my horse 5 days a week and feed/do barn work 7 days a week. I’m very strong.

I have upped my maintenance recently. I don’t dye my hair and get it cut once a year usually. I use a clay mask once or twice a week to reduce pores, and sometimes a collagen one for moisture. I use a Vit C serum and moisturizer. I keep one of those collagen sticks in my purse if my skin feels dry during the day. I guess it isn’t that much, but it is more than I used to do!

Lots of people seem to be using Vitamin C serums. Does anyone have a specific brand recommendation?

Some time around 50 the wrinkles, crepey skin, sun damage, etc. became really noticeable.

I work out four to six days/week, eat healthy most of the time, and maintain a height appropriate weight, but none of that counteracts what is happening naturally.

I know this isn't universal and many women look great well past 50s, but I encourage women 40+ to appreciate how great you look right now!

The holy grail Vit C products are $$$.

I use Timeless (available on amazon) or Mad Hippie (their own site or Whole Foods). I don’t spend a lot on Vit C serum because it degrades quickly so I never use more than half the bottle before it starys turning yellowish (a sign it has degraded due to oxygen, heat, etc exposure).

This cleaning routine seems negligent. You probably stink.
