When do regions and districts start for XC?

Congrats! there is some really good competition and States doesn't have a clear favorite on the individual side (I assume Robinson is winning for the team)

Very impressive performances. Disappointing for the girls who ran without a team and didn't qualify. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

What does this mean? The three top teams go plus the next 15 runners who are not on those teams

It is an arbitrary cut off that's all since top teams will have slower runners.

If you look at the occoquan region- the top three teams have most of their runners in the top 30 finishers.

what do you think the cut off should be?

I am really looking forward to watching the States races in Leesburg this weekend.

Incorrect.

It's the top three teams, plus the next FIVE runners not on those teams. Extremely difficult to make it to the State meet as an individual.

5 is tough. it should be anyone that finishes in top 30 that is not on a team

State meet seemed to have some upsets this weekend in the individual finishes but great races out in Leesburg. No surprise that Robinson won on the girls side but there was definitely some shake ups in the top 15 finishers

I was very shocked that if an individual was on a team that did well, they got to take part as individuals in the State.
Whereas individuals who were far better than them was not qualified for the State.

The whole team of 7 participated- and that is how the scores were determined

Am I the only person disturbed by the fact that Milesplit posted video of a 1st place finisher collapsing, to kudos for leaving it all out there?

(Perhaps not, because they seem to have taken it down.)

There were several girls who collapsed and it bothered me. Seems unhealthy.

It was warmer than expected and these athletes typically leave nothing on the course. Now I also think disordered eating (note not saying eating disorders) run rampant amongst top athletes.
