| You don’t know them. Maybe her beloved grandmother shares your name. |
My friends loved the name, let’s say Zoey, so they named their cat Zoey. Got pregnant and regretted using up the name they liked on their cat but then says screw it and changed their cat’s name to lets say Chloe and named their kid Zoey. I thought that was hilarious. |
| It’s weird. I once suggested a name to my DH and he said no bc he had a crush on someone with that name at some point. In the literal decades since he said that he has never mentioned that person again, and hadn’t before. |
| Women pick the names 100%. She probably suggested it and he said great. He has 100% forgotten about you totally so the name didn't ring a bell. |
Wrong. Men pick the names. |
-1 Did you just marry some rando off the street or did you get to know the guy at all? |
Ha.. This! |
Maybe. But maybe it is a name he and his wife both agreed on. I named my cat after a college GF because I thought it was the perfect cat name, not because I was still in love with college GF. |
Men usually pick their son's name, and will let their wife pick their daughter's name. |
Ha! We didn’t do this but ran into similar. LOVED the name we gave our dog when we found out we were having a boy. Dog was 6 and didn’t consider changing it but it was HARD to come up with something we liked as much. |
How is being told your ex named your kid after you not moving on from college? |
This. It would have been weirder if he denied his wife naming her daughter what she wanted because of you. |
| Depends if it is a common name or not |
| Obvioisly he is still hung up. |
| I’m guessing it was more that he didn’t tell his wife no than that he wanted it. |
