Yeah, no. Let's be the leaders in doing it the right way. |
Are you also advocating for getting rid of Meet Mobile? Because names, ages and times are all available there. There is no reason for PVS to not post information that is available on USA swimming site. I think parents that are concerned should be allowed to elect not to have their swimmer’s name published, and some do that in MM, but this “rule” is going to be a negative for older kids navigating the recruiting process who can no longer utilize Swimcloud. |
| If meet result files can’t be shared with SwimCloud this is a real problem. Someone in PVS has to get this resolved. They are doing a disservice to our DC. |
| Can someone share the rule that changed? I cannot find it on USA Swimming and the recent amendments. |
| I still haven’t seen any evidence this so-called even exists. |
Give me a break…this data is already all over. Like PP mentioned, Meet Mobile publishes this data along with sites like NVSL. For HS kids, publishing of times is important for recruiting. Swim is not the only sport where the athletes data is widely published - look at baseball and football. Let parents have the option to opt-out if they don’t want their kid’s data published, but don’t prevent it for the rest of us. |
I don't' disagree with you. I think it is odd that I can't find a new rule - when usually new rules are transparent. It does not seem every league is doing the same thing either. But at least from PVS, there is no update to the swim sites from the first few meets (swimcloud, swimstandards, myswimio, etc) - not a single one. |
| I don’t even see PVS results from end of September posted to USA Swimming yet. Why aren’t the results being published even in USA Swimming? |
The NCAP block party meet from the last weekend of September is the only one there. Those results also appear on swimstandards, but not Swimcloud or myswimio. It’s really strange. |
| The great PVS blackout of 2025-2026. |
Yeah - no wonder they hadn’t published meeting minutes for months. |
The block party meet may not have been PVS-sanctioned. I know the recent block party meet for Machine was not PVS-sanctioned. The purpose of block party meets is to make it easier for teams to do meets without going through the LSC-sanctioning process, which for some clubs can be a headache. |
So PVS has taken it upon themselves to not publish their meet results even to USA swimming? That’s ludicrous. |
Put down the pitchfork. That’s obviously not the case. There are several threads on this forum that explain why it can take time for results to make it into the USA Swimming database. Other issues aside, there’s not a world in which PVS - a USA Swimming entity - isn’t sharing the results with its governing body. |
No one has a pitchfork 🙄 I’m familiar with the lag time, but it is unusual that more than a week after the first meets of the season not a single PVS sanctioned meet has results pushed out to USA swimming. |
