| Maybe he can switch to softball - a lot of adults play on softball leagues. |
Our varsity/club basketball player played intramural for fun in college |

My middle DS played D3 baseball. He's now a high school teacher and coaches for the high school baseball team and for a club team in the summer. He's talked about playing on an "old man" baseball team (there are several adult men's baseball leagues in the DMV) or a softball team but hasn't joined one yet. He's currently training for the Marine Corps Marathon.
My oldest DS swam year round from about 8 years old (club, summer and high school.). He joined his club swim team in college and loved it - said it was very similar to summer swim. He also did a lot of intramurals with his fraternity. Now that he's working, his first choice for exercise is bike riding. But he still swims laps when the weather is too nasty for riding his bike. And he's joined several adult intramural leagues, like kickball and volleyball. |

Yes! My DS both play post-high school. One is in an adult "beer league" and loves it - he was never a great player and is still in the middle of the pack, but he loves his sport, follows it on TV, and plays every week.
My younger kid plays sort of D3 in college - not recruited, not sure he wanted to play, but plays for a small school on a small D3 development team. He likes playing more than watching but he enjoys his college experience. That one also plays basketball with friends in the gym. Both exercise regularly and I credit that to years of them being in sports. They also both love to watch college sports and some professional sports. |
| He could work in the booth, commentating, keeping official score book, working the score book. There are lots of roles in the athletic department if he is interested in being around the sport. |

One kid did intramural/club pretty competitive and loved it.
One kid plays D1 sport and lives it. One kid loved music and did intense and competitive music based clubs. So many fabulous opportunities with clubs in college! |

A co-worker has a brother who played minor league baseball - got to AAA ball but released. He is a sales guy, and if you buy from him he will play on your office softball team. His territory is Texas and apparently there are still lots of semi-serious softball leagues.

| Both my kids played baseball at a D3. One was HA and the other offered a bunch of merit money. Both have since graduated (and have jobs in their majors!) Both are also playing on mens leagues as well as doing other athletic things ie in a basketball league, training for a marathon etc. While they were/are good athletes we tried to instill in them the value of movement/activity in every day in whatever way you can. |
| Love that they are still being active! |
