I’ve heard that he did say the staff are overpaid from both union and non union sources. Who really knows though? It’s not like he is announcing his disdain for our pay scale during a town hall meeting. |
I subconsciously read “why” instead of “when” bc no reasonable person would care WHEN they left. You want a date and time? Who cares? |
cause i don't believe they are truly gone |
That’s sad then. Nothing better to do than nit pick personnel ratios and magazine subscriptions? The break-even period for the effort is like 200 years. |
| NP—I’ve also heard PA say staff are overpaid and he does not want to allocate any money toward compensation/benefits. I’ve heard he does not respect the staff which is obvious as there have been no town halls or any meaningful communication from him. He could care less about morale. |
I feel bad for him then. Why would a 60-plus yo who has plenty of money waste his time leading an org whose people he had no respect for? What a waste of retirement. Play golf. Hang with grandkids. Having said that, townhalls are stupid. Waste of time. So wouldn’t draw conclusions from that. What’s he going to allocate money toward then? Desks? The whole org is based on PEOPLE! It’s not a factory. |
This is spot on. The lack of raises for the next 4 years will make a major dent in pensions, matching contributions etc. All of those things might seem like being overpaid to him but most employees chose this over higher paying jobs for the flexibility he illegally took away. All from a guy who is worth $350M, most of which came from his wife’s family. |
Town halls may be a "waste of time" but they show a modicum of effort and are just about the only vehicle to ask questions to the chair's office. I heard there is a huge surplus because of all the VERA departures and IT cuts. Apparently, he doesn't understand why any govt agency would have student loan repayment programs. The guy is out of touch. I did hear we are getting a gym because his staff wants one. |
Because I don't need that information, I already know why and it should be obvious to everyone. I’m curious if it was before or after they decided to do a total reorg of OIT. |
| I guess we’ll see what the sec extra merit raise will be beyond the overall 1 pct government wide. |
| The gall of the husband of an heiress who has probably never had to worry about childcare, dinner, saving for college etc saying that staff are overpaid. Does he have no idea how much of a prick he comes across? And yes NP here and I have also heard from a very credible source that he has disdain towards staff. |
He doesn’t even have to give us the 1% if he doesn’t want to. Don’t assume we are getting anything. And we know we have $$ if they keep our funding flat through CRs. |
PA basically announced the OIT reorg in his 7.5 minute "welcome" speech. DOGE just provided some legwork. |
|
For all the complainers, I think the agency could have done a LOT worse than PA. We seem to luck out. By “disdain,” I think you mean he doesn’t kiss staff’s butt.
As if GG just adored the staff! Lol. |
GG at least gave the staff decent raises for the first time in years. And he gave us our now taken away telework that was effective and the staff sorely misses but PA won’t reinstate. And allowed for a two hour dismissal prior to holidays that PA for some reason thinks is stupid and won’t do even though OPM has issued guidance saying it’s ok. It’s not really about kissing the staff’s butt. It’s the fact that there are little things he could be doing that he chooses not to. It sends a message. Sure, it could be a lot worse and everyone appreciates that it’s not. But we should also be able to call the issues like we see them. |
