You’d be mocked, kidding, kind of. |
My DD loved hers. It was a charging headboard from Dormify and she will use it again this year. If she does not need it for her junior year, she can always sell it. It easily attached but I don’t remember how we did it. The headboard came with whatever was needed to attach.
In my days, we used a “husband” pillow, but this takes up a lot less space and has charging. She and her roommate got matching ones, though that’s not needed. It’s just a way to make their home away from home comfy. |
Ordered this for DS - https://www.homedepot.com/p/MODWAY-Emily-Navy-Twin-Tufted-Performance-Velvet-Headboard-MOD-6114-NAV/310592498
Cheap incase it doesn't work but quality-wise is really nice. It did smell like the packaging though for awhile so we Febreesed it a few times and have let it air out. We plan to zip tie it to the bed posts (jr lofted bed - not too high). Friend got one last year on one with charger in it from Dormify - they used heavy duty command strips to hang it and it lasted all year with no issues to the wall. |
All the snark? I think you mean opinions that don’t match yours. |
I assume it doesn't - but why buy a headboard if your dorm bed already has one? My dd's bed was just the wooden slatted frame and the thin mattress. We raised the mattress so she could have underbed storage, and we attached the headboard to the wall at the head of her bed. Her bed is heavy enough that it does not move away from the headboard. At first I thought the charging feature was silly but in fact it's great. |
Actually that was my point - we didn’t find it necessary but lots do and it’s cool |
NP: Your statement might be valid if the original post were asking advice about whether or not to get a headboard, but it wasn't - OP clearly asked for help PICKING OUT a headboard and described the type her daughter wants. So yes it is annoying for there to be several snarky comments about how she should not a headboard, how useless it is to get a headboard, etc etc |
First day on the internet? |
School’s parent Facebook page. People will be selling them if it is a school where kids move into apartments after a year or two. My kid did not have one but a lot of girls at her school did. Most seemed to coordinate with roommate. |
How can she get properly railed by a Sigma Chi if she doesn't have a proper headboard? |
Best comment of the weekend. 😜 |
We kept it very basic with this one. It has lasted 3 yrs so far and onto the 4th.
The stings and loops in the back have made installations very easy. Rainha Memory Foam Cushioned Dorm Headboard - Amazon |
Thank you. Seemed pretty obvious! |
+1 |
All the snark is too hard to pass up for such foolishness. I would guess it’s mostly Southern and some Midwestern Universities where the color pink rules and these girls SAT scores are lower than their $1,000 dorm decoration budget. |
