Democrats in congress, and in general should speak out clearly and unequivocally in support of deportation of criminals. Perhaps they feel they have. Perhaps they feel that Obama deported more than Trump in his first term according to the stats and thus it speaks for itself. I don’t know any democrats personally who want to coddle or keep the people who commit crimes here, especially violent ones. However, those voices are drowned out by parts of the party and many organizations on the local level who feel that it should depend on the type of crime, and they want the years of legal processes to play out before doing anything immigration related. I do not agree with them! In fact, I’m appalled that many of these organizations have succeeded in legally stopping any and all cooperation locally where there was cooperation before. However, you could argue that, if it is so easy to return, and the country of origin does not care about the crimes committed here, we would be safer, if full sentences were served here, for severe crimes, case dependent. The DUIs, theft, vandalism, gang activities, etc. should be deported with minimal proceedings honestly. |

What is this bogus "at least someone is seeking justice" narrative? Why do you insist on repeating this FALSE NARRATIVE that somehow liberals give illegals a pass if they commit serious crimes? Like, state and local police arrive on the scene of a rape or murder and put the guy in cuffs but then when they discover he's an illegal just say "oh, it's OK, you can walk" and uncuff him and send him on his merry way? Or that the judge says "oh, I see you're an illegal alien, so all charges are dismissed and have a nice day?" You are absolutely deranged with your repeated insistence that illegal aliens who commit felonies are given a pass by liberals. It's absolutely and demonstrably false. I just posted this in another thread. Tell us that liberals are all in on arresting criminal illegal aliens. Their actions prove otherwise..... We have so many examples of illegal aliens, especially in sanctuary cities and states, who have been charged AND CONVICTED of crimes, yet instead of ensuring they are deported, they allow them to walk the streets. Just like the guy above with 67 bookings (look up the case of Javier Dimas-Alcantar). Why was he allowed out on the streets again and again when authorities KNEW he was present illegally, had been ordered deported twice, and continued to commit crimes? And, then there is the case of Wisconsin Judge Dugan who assisted an illegal alien escape the courthouse during a hearing in which he was facing criminal charges of strangulation, battery, suffocation, and domestic abuse. He had previously been deported and reentered the US, a felony. I don't recall any elected official expressing outrage at the actions of Judge Dugan. And, just one more local example..... the case of David Cabrera in Arlington, VA....... Guatemala national David Cabrera was collared by ICE last week after being set free by sanctuary-aligned jurisdiction Arlington County, who refused to honor a federal detainer and released him without notifying ICE. In a video obtained by Fox News, Cabrera is seen roaming a local street before ICE agents initiate his arrest. Cabrera entered the U.S. illegally in 2014 and was convicted of felony rape in 2015. He was sentenced to more than seven years in prison, although a portion of it was suspended. He was released into ICE custody in 2017 and subsequently deported to Guatemala, but re-entered the U.S. again at an unknown time and date. Whether their sentence was later suspended or not is irrelevant, that happens to US citizens too. Whether they committed another crime again is also irrelevant, as US citizens do that too. Whether they were deported and snuck back in is also irrelevant because state and local law enforcement do not have any jurisdiction over citizenship status. |

You said "knowingly" - do you actually believe that NYPD has the ability to surveil the entire 8.5 to 9 million people coming and going in NYC at any given time to discover that the guy who was deported 3 years prior has come back? Really??? And if someone was adjudicated to be released early by the courts for whatever reason, you think that should never be a thing and that once you've committed a felony you should never be allowed onto American streets ever again? Does your view apply to US citizens as well? You do seem to have some weird and impractical notions about how the world works. |

You people claim that liberals are "not opposed to deporting illegal criminal aliens." Yet, when we provide instance after instance of illegal criminal aliens committing crimes and being allowed back on the streets instead of being held for deportation, you become outraged that we dare provide proof. So, no... we don't believe that liberals are not opposed to the deportation of illegal criminal aliens. Because we see that it just does not happen in democratically run cities and the liberals on this site seem to excuse that behavior. |
