"Monteleone was far better than she is."
Could someone elaborate positive experience at RM years ago with Monteleone? We need some confidence and I'd rather be positive about having him.

Got any specifics? |
Better document: https://www.marylandpublicschools.org/stateboard/Documents/legalopinions/012019/Hoover.Op.No.19-03.pdf Looks like two toxic people butting heads |
+1. Gives you an insight that Monteleone can be quite cunning. |
Yeah, some of the new principals are from mid-level CO positions - e.g., the new Kennedy HS principal. These are the master educators? |
Deeny was outstanding at TPMS and very supportive of staff - very high morale, all ruined by the current principal. I find this hard to believe. |
I teach at RM and know all about this. That dismissed administrator was ineffective, mean, and corrupt. She was just mad she got held accountable and had the resources to make a (failed) stink. This isn’t your smoking gun that Damon is bad. |
Massive demotion. He had to screw up pretty bad for this to happen. He’s probably crying right now. I don’t know him, but I know ppl who worked for him and they are NOiT fans. I feel bad for Blair. |
Now do rigging the AP scores. |
Now provide some evidence. |
I liked his letter to the community. I’m sorry I’m not savvy or willing to invest any time in figuring out how to post it here, but he sounded smart and acknowledged the fact that Blair is a special place in the county/state. I wish him well. My main concern - that I indicated on the survey- is that teachers and staff need to feel heard and supported. If he is a good leader, he will be able to do anything. I know a couple Blair teachers who said that are at Johnson was great because she trusted staff and was kind of hands off. So that’s what I said in my survey and what I hope this guy is smart enough to do- trust the teachers in the building who are with the kids all day. I have 3 more years in the school and really hope this new principal is a good one! |
Worked with Damon in CO and found him to be a thoughtful and gracious leader. |
DP here. I was there when Hoover vanished in the middle of AP testing. She didn’t rig scores, but she allowed at least one student without extended time to have extra time on the AP testing Hoover was proctoring. That’s what triggered the administrative leave and investigation. Monteleone covered up the extent of whatever had happened, because he didn’t want the entire school scores to be cancelled. Hoover then held that over him, which meant that a lot of the stuff she had been doing never came out. Good times. |
There was a restructuring in CO, which is common when new superintendents take over. Within the restructuring, 80+ jobs were eliminated. Often, those individuals go back to school-based positions. Not vouching for him or other individuals who lost jobs but in this current climate, is this really shocking? People all over are accepting jobs that they may have done in the past that's a complete departure from their most recent line of work. Gossip certainly gives us something to do but again, in this current climate, when it comes to employment, is this best? |
No gossip. |
