Yes, most adults tend to shower twice a day.

Harris poll:
Gen X is more likely than Gen Z or Boomers to take a shower daily (69% vs. 59% and 53%), and Gen Z is least likely to wash their hair every day (22% vs. 34% millennials, 35% Gen X and 30% Boomers).

Dr. told me many years ago to avoid taking a shower more often than every other day, I have very dry skin, idiopathic uticaria, and some eczema areas. When it's hot and humid, I'll take an extra cool shower just for relief.

I used to work fulltime as an inhome Nanny and used to immediately shower after work even if I showered that morning so if you work with young children, I get it.

In order to remain healthy it is important to give yourself a thorough cleansing once you get home to avoid any lingering germs.

I also think as people get older (especially those 50+) they greatly benefit from twice daily showers or baths since at that age if they do not, they are pretty much going to get that “old person” smell.

So OP, continue 2x daily showers and those people will thank you later on. Lol.

This. Just wear a cap to keep your hair dry. I sometimes take a shower and a bath in the same day. I use lotion right after bath.

I like a shower at the end of the day or after a workout and I also feel like I need one in the morning. I’m in my late 40s and sleep really hot lately, including night sweats sometimes, so even if I shower at night, I need that morning shower. My skin is lovely - not dry at all - I just use a bit of cetaphil after showering. Only wash my hair every other day unless I’m out in the summer heat.

I work full-time in a preschool and supervise outdoor playtime as well as do arts + crafts among other activities with 2-4 yr. olds.

I usually feel dirty when I come home after work so I usually take a shower before bed.
I also shower in the mornings to wake up and start the day off.
My morning shower tends to be very quick, it’s more like a quick rinse.

My friends all think showering 2x/day is too much and that if I continue, I will ruin my skin + hair.

For what it’s worth - on my days off I only shower one time a day.

That is silly and they are probably dirty.

That's often the source of many medical maladies.

I agree, I have thick/coarse hair and wear a lot of product in my hair so I have to shampoo it daily.
I have heard that daily shampooing can dry out your hair, making it prone to fizziness and split ends but my hair looks healthy as I use a hydrating conditioner followed by a good leave-in conditioner as well.

I prefer to shower in the morning and take a warm, relaxing bubble bath 🛀 before I hit the sack.

Im 52 and dont really get "old person smell" between my post-workout shower at 7:30 or 8 and waking up at 5 am. I took 2 showers today because I worked out in the morning and worked in the yard in the afternoon. I smelled like grass and dirt not used Depends.

The actual old people in my life bathe much less frequently than daily because they have bad hips and poor balance. Not really an issue for the average 50 yr old.

I shower twice a day because I need one to wake up in the morning and then I have major allergies so it is actually best to shower before bed to get rid of pollen.

My skin is fine, I use lotion after every shower and I do wash my hair both times. I had a friend ask me doesn't it dry it out, but even my hairdresser says my hair is very healthy and so it is not a problem. My hair gets greasy if I don't wash it frequently, and it works for me to do this.

Just use lotion. Black people have been doing this their entire lives.
