panic attacks and major oral presentations

get her in some neuro affirming theater classes as a longer term strategy. For now, maybe she can video record herself and be present for Q&A

Everyone hates this kind of thing in 8th grade. Hating it is not an excuse for not doing it.


A panic disorder is absolutely a reason for an accom9dation,such as submitting a video recording.

I think an accommodation is very reasonable request. Sometimes it’s possible to record the presentation and play it in class (which she may not like but at least her symptoms are wouldn’t affect her grade. )

(Side note, sounds more like stage fright which is a a subset of social anxiety than panic attacks. Both are hard for kids and legit reason for accomodation but the treatment is different so eventually it will be worthwhile parsing that out.)
