Biggest American exporter is BMW. The CEO was on the news talking about it and also the Carolina plant.

Ugh. We NEED to buy a new car but were holding off until we saved a few thousand after DH starts his new job in May. I guess we'll just dip into savings for the car and rebuild after he starts his job.

A lot of "foreign cars" are built in the USA - my Subaru was built in Indiana and I believe BMW, Toyota, Honda, and several other manufacturers build at least one or two models in the US. Meanwhile, a ton of "American cars" are built in Mexico, Canada, even China. Regardless of manufacturer, most of the parts come from overseas anyway.

Toyota Highlanders must be ordered.

Only colors available are red and white. 3 to 6 month wait in DMV.

How does that help beat the tariffs?

Depending what you’re looking for, there are still decent deals to be had. We bought a new minivan about a week ago, for about $2k below MSRP. There was a financing offer at 1.99 percent interest (for 48 mos.), so we financed the whole thing.

Highly recommend looking at the EV market. Certain used EVs are showing a >50% depreciation YoY. We just bought a used Lexus EV at a bargain price with low miles (2K) w/0.99% financing.

No, people are trying to get their purchases in before the tariffs kick out butts.

If you lived in the DC metro you would know that the people who make the most money here don't work for the government, lol.

You don't have to buy your car here you know?

We bought our car in western Maryland, there is more availability and more deals to be had outside of the immediate DMV.

Search cargurus for EVs. We had to drive up to NY to pick ours up but there are deals to be had within 300 miles

I love my Mercedes G. It's very reliable.

Why don’t you look at other manufacturers?
