If the child is healthy why worry about a number on a chart that assumes that every child is the same?

You are incredibly ignorant.

Our GI has us add 1 scoop of formula in breastmilk bottles to increase calories.

OP here.

Thank you so much for all the suggestions. I am excited to try some new things and see what my DS likes! His first food was avocado, followed soon thereafter by bananna because I knew those were nutritious, high fat/calorie foods. I'm not sure if he's ready for salmon yet (?) as he doesn't tolerate texture very well at this point...could I bake it and then puree it? Or is that too gross?!

Also, have any of you tried boiled eggs and then serving the egg yolk only (obviously, no egg whites yet)? Or chickpeas?

Fingers crossed for the scale at the end of the week...!

We've done salmon baked with a bit of butter, it literally falls apart in her mouth (8 months old). We've also given her chick peas, she loves those. Each time we've tried the egg yolk, she vomits soon thereafter, not sure if it's coincidental with the car ride after or if she just doesn't agree with it. Good luck!

We've been doing scrambled eggs since he was about 7mos old. We also to chickpease, but hummus instead. The tahini and OO are full of fat.

My DD really liked defrosted frozen sweet cherries when she was that age. My pedi said that they are one of the higher caloric fruits because we too were trying to gain more weight.

At what age can a baby begin to have olive oil added to his food? Also, what amount is recommended? Are there side effects to the olive oil? TIA.
