Yes, she confirmed this. It’s what she used to buy the house (or a part of it). The girls also received money from him, but I think she said Kane’s father is the trustee of that money. They may also qualify for benefits from social security.

The pandemic really threw me for a loop - I just googled Kane and found out he passed away. Four years ago. I loved that show when I was commuting.
