Good list though it depends where in England you go for a slower pace. I'd put Singapore before Malaysia but Malaysia does have a slower pace in regards to op's ideal and I would rather live there than here anyway! |
It's hard to know who has the less polluted soil quality. The would depend on agricultural and industrial practices going back to the nineteenth century. That is probably pretty hard to figure out. |
Go back much further than that. Some of the most polluted soils are in areas where people were farming thousands of years ago. |
It would be a paradise, if it wasn't for the socialist government and overcrowding. |
I'm European and grew up with parents in the foreign service, so we lived in a lot of places. OP, for us is Switzerland. For the African American family, I recommend Versailles or Toulouse. |
Malaysia also has a very low COL and doesnt have the gross sexpat problem plaguing a lot of SEA. You can live a very nice lifestyle in many Malaysian cities. But again, to me the US is still the best by far. |
That's very true. And bad air quality in many places. The soil/air quality things rules out most of SouthEastAsia. A lot of places like Vietnam are still dealing with fallout from all the agent orange sprayed during the war. Ditto for places in eastern europe affected by Chernobyl. |
+1000 exactly. It's always some clueless American who's only trips abroad have been MAYBE a one week vacation whining about how awful the US is |
Same and same |
WTF is a “spiked” American? And you’ve obviously never lived in a Nordic country. Most places in the US are an absolute embarrassment in comparison. We’re still better than Canada, though, and I’ll die on that hill. |

This. Plus, are you fluent in many languages? You say that one thing you are looking for is "community" but how will you get that if you don't speak the language? |
Curious why you think Canadians have a worse quality of life. |
Ah, of course, a bitter Canadian. Actually, I have lived in a Nordic country, as well as Germany. But tbh both are miles better than the Temu version of America that is Canada. Like a very pale imitation of the real thing. Sorry you guys are never the center of the conversation, just the forgotten little sibling |
