I’m a Simply Orange fan and just read this on Reddit about shrinkflation. Is it true?? Did my parents have it right all along??
• Edited 5d ago What's funny is that concentrated orange juice is far closer to "natural" OJ than Simply Orange. Simply Orange sits into a stainless steel vat covered by a dense gas (to keep the oxygen away), and it can sit that way for up to a year. Due to the processing Simply Orange goes through it has to be reflavored with "flavor packs" to make it taste like OJ again. Concentrated OJ is just dehydrated OJ (concentrate) that needs water added back to it at the time of bottling. |
You already voluntarily pay double price for watered down juice, so why do you care? |
The flavor packs are to standardize the flavor and make it taste nice. Concentrate can have flavor packs too. |
| I just noticed it today. I bought some small bottles for my parents (they use it with their Miralax) and saw that the bottles were previously 12 oz and are now 11 oz. |
