Am I the only one with bare nails?

Natural is coming back.

My wife gardens and crafts so she has nothing on her nails about 350 days a year.

Late 40s and I had bare nails my entire life until about six months ago. I started getting the powder dip manicures and they are amazing! I choose light, natural colors and they last 3+ weeks. I love it so much more. When my nails were bare, I felt like they always looked a bit ragged. Now they look so polished and professional.

There are a lot of options between bare nails and long pointy acrylics, OP. I keep mine short and rounded.

Tons of people have bare nails. I have no choice— I’m allergic to nail polish and adhesives. You do you!

30s, bare nails. I just trim and file them so they're just over fingertip length and rounded and I push back the cuticles myself with some oil and one of the little metal tools. I do get pedicures with neutral nail polish.

I know a small handful with painted nails. Mostly family in then Midwest and south. Friends here rarely wear any color. I haven’t in years. I keep them trimmed and buff out the ridges.

I'm mid-40s and usually have bare nails. I am fortunate to have nice, strong nails but I do enjoy the occasional manicure. I just get regular polish when I go.

My toenails react to any kind of nail polish so I've been keeping them bare lately. It's not a look I'm totally comfortable with during the summer, but they are trimmed and neat so I'll have to just deal with it.

I do. acrylics are very trashy and ruin your nails.

I almost always have bare nails. I do have polish on now, as my son graduated from high school this week and I decided to glam up.
No acrylics for me. I think they look sort of strange. I once tried a gel manicure and really did not like the way it felt. So on the rare occasions I get a manicure, it’s just an old fashioned one. And always a sheer pink polish, intended to look somewhat natural. That’s what I like.

Most of my friends get gel manicures. I also know many women with bare nails. I get regular manicures with nude colors. There are some salons who won't take me b/c I don't use gel or acrylics.

Yes, you're the only one. I have never seen bare nails on a woman.

To be fair, acrylics seem to have become very common, especially among younger women. Probably not for the majority DCUM demographic though.

OP is trying to make a weird humble brag pivot.

You haven't had the pleasure of meeting me yet then.

I usually do. I own two nail polishes - one is OPI and a gold color, and the other is a clear nail strengthening thing. I rarely polish my nails. Like, a few times a year. I would never do gel or acrylic or whatever else there is - I don't think it's healthy for the nails and don't think acrylics look good (gel tends to look good).

I work at a preschool and wash my hands so many times a day that getting my nails done during the school year is an effort in futility.

I wait until summer.
