The Nix community needs to lobby the BOE to reconsider, I don’t think WAPO will be coming to the rescue on this appointment. |
Is there a probationary period. I’m worried he will get passed around MCPS schools like a hot potato |
Are parents and teachers at the school aware, and are there efforts to reverse this decision? |
I don’t think so. Parents in the community are mostly immigrants who don’t really know how things work or who to complain to. They are trusting that schools will do right by them and their kids. This is why this is even more disturbing that mcps places him here. They are exploiting this community because they know they will trust them while they pull the wool over their eyes. Who cares about those brown kids, right Mcps? Your racism is showing. |
This is what breaks my heart about the majority black and brown schools. So many parents TRUST MCPS and MCPS absolutely does those communities dirty and wrong. They neglect their schools, cut corners and perpetuate dysfunction because they know these parents won't organize collectively to give them hell the way schools with more white parents will. |
This is disgusting. They are sticking the terrible principal fired from DCPS on a community that won’t know how bad he is before it is too late. |
According to Board Docs, he left DCPS in Dec 2023 (Resigned due to family emergency) |
OP here. Quit=resigned and Dec 2023=middle of the school year, like I said. He announced his resignation in a room full of parents and teachers, prior to submitting any resignation paperwork to the district. The facts are not in question. There were many witnesses and we were told they had to wait for him to file his resignation with the district to be able to take action after this meeting. And of course he wouldn't document in his resignation when he finally filed it, "I have to quit even though I don't want to anymore because I got caught lying and started screaming in front of important stakeholders." |
BOE meeting June 11. Parents be there! |
Yup. Show up and get in the BOE's face. |
And say what? I read something on DCUM about this guy? |
Reach out to a reporter for local media moco355 or other local outlet if they can cover the presumptive nominee. |
More like HR. Just another example of how April Key is incompetent and unfit for the job and needs to be fired immediately. Clearly she didn't do the enhanced background check - which includes a simple google search - she told the board she does for every administrator candidate and signs off on an attestation for. She is a liability for MCPS. |
Not surprising at all. Nobody in MCPS apparently does any reference or background checks. Look who they put in an interim superintendent: https://montgomeryperspective.com/2024/03/28/felder-payments-are-part-of-a-nationwide-school-controversy/ https://tennesseestar.com/news/report-nashville-schools-director-shawn-joseph-gave-favored-company-no-bid-contract/cbutler/2019/02/07/ https://indyweek.com/news/orange/orange-countys-new-school-board-has-ousted-superintendent-monique-felder/ https://www.wmar2news.com/news/newschannel-5-investigates/metro-schools/maryland-company-given-inside-track-on-lucrative-mnps-contract https://sasscer.wordpress.com/2017/01/12/how-pgcps-executives-transferred-corruption-and-got-caught/ |
You're assuming they didn't do a background check. It's entirely possible that they did do a check, learned about the DCPS resignation, asked the candidate about it, asked his references, and were satisfied with the results. |
