This seems like an 11th grade course schedule rather than a 10th grade one.

This is what 10th grade at St. Anselm's Abbey looks like, except for the math.

Yes, had already taken geometry (the usual 10th grade math) before starting at the Abbey (the AP BC track does precalc in one semester). Forgot they also have PE/intramurals.

Standard math track at most schools is geometry in 9th.

They flip it and do Algebra II in 9th.

Sure, if they aren't offered.

We alumni interview and easily 40% of applications handled geometry in 8th grade or summer school before 9th grade or concurrent with algebra in 9th grade (took two math classes).

Taking an 18 month break between algebra I and algebra II is not great for a student. And geometry is a standalone class, not a building brick for calculus 94 algebra.

Thus transcripts we see of honors kids from private or public and magnet school kids lock down a Calculus grade junior year. Plus the AP test.

Even if they are it’s ok. A lot of the mainstream private schools have very limited 10th grade AP offerings (History and one or two Comp Sci, maybe) and many of them limit 10th graders to only one AP even when they do offer them. Definitely try to take 10th grade honors courses where available, especially if there are available APs you’re not taking, but APs just are not as big a thing until 11th and 12th in most private schools.
