-cohesive campus feel, with all students clustered or living on campus for 4 years
- easy to double major, even across colleges (e.g., anthropology and HOD)
- strong campus community/vibe which is not diluted by being in an urban area/neighborhood
- access to restaurants/resources outside campus
- social fun energy
- newer dorms with AC

Thanks for any suggestions. Open to SLACs

Middlebury; Amherst and many other SLACs.
Most Ivies I think. Notre Dame.

Is Rice like this?

Yea, all those restaurants and other city stuff in Middlebury is just like Nashville.

Another vote for Davidson w/its cute college town but just 30 minutes from downtown Charlotte. My son chose it over Middlebury and Wesleyan and has loved his college experience. He and many of his friends are double majoring.

Newer dorms eliminates most top 25 schools, unless you mean recently renovated is ok.

Renovated is good.
Thanks!!

UVA! It even comes with fireplace, electricity, and running water.

And the closest bathrooms are outside, across the "Lawn", and behind the next building. No thanks.

UMiami is a great school but housing is not all four years. Likely two years at most (they are building new halls and renovating others). Otherwise touches all your bullet points.

8,000 happy students in Nashville… Belmont University.

Surprised it didn’t get mentioned sooner.

Amazing location, solid music business program, but the student body is a weird amalgam of super-woke and super-religious.

I know you stated it, but Vanderbilt is the prime example of this, especially among t20s. No other t20 has anything close to all the categories. There's a great quality of life that Vanderbilt offers. That being said job outcomes are not good. You'd be better served going to UT Austin, Northeastern, Tulane or UMich if you care about that.

What about Boston College? DC is looking for similar things as OP and we're considering BC, as well.

Look at this years CS grad, for example, most of them are unemployed. It is not a good sign.

If your child is female, Wellesley has most of these attributes (the only one about which I'm not sure is whether or not the dorm rooms have AC. But the school is in MA, so it arguably has not been necessary)
