Another TV horror movie from the same era: Trilogy of Terror: Tiki doll section. IYKYK. |
You didn’t find: The people became animals if they didn’t find a mate in 6 weeks weird? The simulated timed sex between hotel residents and the maids weird? The instruction about how mate finding prevents choking and dying or sexual assault through poorly acted skits weird. The man whose hand was burned in a toaster weird. The nightly forest trips to kill another to earn another day at the hotel weird? |
How am I the first person to be mentioning Donnie Darko!? |
O Lucky Man!
Donnie Darko Dead Ringers Agree with The Lobster. It was made by the same guy as Poor Things. I enjoyed Poor Things. I would not rewatch The Lobster |
Nope. I was expecting it to be off kilter/alternate reality. All of that stuff made sense in the world the movie was occurring in. Which is why I said it was occasionally uncomfortably surreal. |
That was mostly poorly written. The acting was also middling. |
I was coming here to say the same thing. Such a weird movie. |

Before opening this thread, I thought “that weird lobster movie”…and sure enough…. |
+1. Just posted above! |
Primer. And it is awesome. |
This, definitely. There was no point. |
+1 -- I had said Eraserhead... but Naked Lunch is equally weird. |
