Realized DS was having son was having $ex in his car (found the condom wrapper.) His girlfriend isn't allowed to be at our house if we aren't here....and her parents don't want him there if they aren't home....

I have a feeling once he gets to college...

He’s gonna do what every college student does?

This. You don't have to make it easy for them. I'm fact, you shouldn't.

I honestly do not understand this point of view. What's wrong with safe, consensual sex? Why not let your teen have sex at home in their bed with the door closed? Better that than in a car, or some other dirty unsafe place.

No, she isn't to my knowledge, but she did ask me if I could buy her a vibrator. I did, so of course I know she has one.

There's always a few kids in HS whose parents are never around, so that house is the hookup house. There's also:

place of employment
school facilities after hours
after school activity facility
secluded park/woods
driving to motel (seriously)
cousin's best friend's cousin's house

This has to be a teen posting. There's many dangers: emotional fallout when the relationship sours, improper use of b.c. leading to pregnancy or sti, becoming subject of gossip at school which leads to bullying, etc. It seems many of the teen suicides that make the news have some element of romance gone bad or sexual embarrassment.

WTF? When in the history of ever has a child asked their mother to buy her a vibrator!??!

Mine asked me for one. . .and I only feel grateful that she and I have developed the kind of relationship where she feels comfortable asking for something like that. I don't know details, or pry - allow her privacy - but she definitely knows that I will answer anything and be available to help her with anything.

Omg honestly I never thought about getting my teen daughter a vibrator but now I am.

So she can lay off wanting to be with any one pump chumps that don’t try and make her feel good anyway.

Very powerful

Better in your own house than in a car or public place etc. That's my thinking, better to be in a safe place.

WTF? How is it the majority of moms in my peer/friends group have bought their daughter one? I thought most progressive moms were doing this! How is this strange??

Did you wait over a year as a teen?

Also most teens that have sex aren’t even in relationships.

BCP and condoms.

Why do people post replies without answering the question? Is it a reading comprehension thing, or a "I must insert myself in all circumstances pay attention to me" thing? Regardless, it's very sad. Pathetic, some might say.

Yes, I had been with my first for about a year when we had sex for the first time. Maybe 11 months.
No, they are not already doing it. I'm sorry you don't have the kind of relationship with your kid where you could be confident of something so essential. But it's probably your own fault.

Bingo!

Honest question. What was going through your head when you typed and posted this? Was it "my kid deceives me and so OP is likewise deceived"? Was it "OP forgot to ask "is my kid having sex" so I will just answer the question I thought she should have asked"?

I am seriously dying to know what is behind these dumb pointless responses!

Actually, “I was a bad kid and refuse to openly accept that many teens behave/d better than me because the reality makes me feel like a piece of shit.”

But isn’t the sneaking around part of the fun of sex as a teen? It was for me.

But…it’s not bad to have sex.
