To my surprise, it was several! I won't list them because I know people will jump all over me. It's fine other people like them. I think watching the movie made me realize that I really could never be a Swiftie. I like some of her songs some of the time. Listening to 3 hours of her music was not that fun and kind of put me in a bad mood. But I'm not super into pop in general, so it's not that surprising. I did it for my kid, who like I said, really enjoyed it. |
I mean… they are pretty clean. It’s not “ WAP”😂 But I’ve been thinking about her use of swearing recently. I think there are times it’s needed, but there are a few instances of it just being a lazy lyric written , and that irritates me, because I think she is too smart for that. She’s cursing ,on occasion, to fill a beat. That bugs me. |
We went to the Eras tour in Philly. Watched the movie a few days ago and it's not even nearly the same as the actual concert. There's no way to replicate the atmosphere/energy of a live concert and there's no way to capture it all on film. The movie almost seemed boring to me. Something was missing. |
DP. Like how the word damn catches my ear every time she sings "Sometimes when I look into your eyes, I pretend you're mine all the damn time." Sounds forced into the lyrics, and Taylor sounds awkward saying it. |
+1 I got your reference when I first read it; it's clear the PPs aren't the brightest of bulbs. |
Dumb question probably, but is she singing love in this? |
That was unkind, but hey you won the internet! I personally didn’t get the reference but definitely see the phenomena. The issue ts fans have is they don’t understand that the effervescence comes from the collective experience and not Taylor. I’m sure you, as one of the brightest bulbs, can easily recognize this and also see how trump manifests the same effervescent experience at his rallies. If we name it, maybe people will be able to put fandom into perspective. |

Can someone please summarize what it looks like? Are the eras regarding her music? Is this the tour that she repeats across the globe? |
Each of her albums is a different “era” of the show, with the background/set and costumes changing with each one. She performs a few hits from each different album with a large cast of backup dancers before changing to the next era. |
Its crap. |
I feel exactly the opposite. I don't enjoy crowds or even going to see live music: I would hate spending hours (and $$$) for a distant view from a stadium seat. But, I enjoy a concert movie. |
Not a dumb question. Yes she is singing live. She has 4 backup vocalists, who are mostly relegated to “ oohs and aahs” I would love to hear someone strip the mix down so I could just hear those ladies. I’m curious to hear what they sound like. Their mics are turned way down. She has several songs where it’s just her and the guitar or piano ( an acoustic set) But when the band is fired up, the sound accompanying her is so polyphonic, it’s hard to make out specific musical lines. I’m also pretty sure I’m hearing a sweetener dubbed somewhere in all that sound. Which is frankly necessary if she wants to mimic something closer to what you hear when listening to her albums, especially the later ones. |
What a bizarre comment. This is a you problem. I can't afford tickets, and my daughter and I really enjoyed watching the movie. I mean, we got to see what happened at the concert. We liked watching her perform. We like seeing the different eras, the dancing, the outfits, the dramatics, the things she said, the live performances of songs that we've only heard the studio versions before. Why would we want to see that? Better for us not to? This is confusing for you? |
What are druids? |
