Agreed. My kids wouldn't be over there. |
Op said the owners kids startled the dog under the table |
That’s the worst combination. Clueless owners and a dog that’s not a good fit with little kids. |
Tell me you know nothing about dogs without saying it. Just because this family isnt the right fit does not mean there isn't a good home for the dog. |
No reputable rescue would take a dog with a multiple bite history. |
A lot do for tiny dogs like this, especially if it's specific to kids. |
Depends on the circumstances and how bad the bite was |
Then you're a bigger idiot than these pet owners. WHY would you let your children even be there, knowing this dogs history? IT BIT A KID IN THE FACE!. The ER visit would have put that dog on the radar of animal control, animal bites must be reported. You are asking for trouble in mixing kids with that dog |
Yet you have a plan for when your kids go there again. You're dumber than an actual troll |
I would never go to their house again, with or without my kids. Honestly I would reevaluate the friendship with someone who has such disregard for their child’s safety. |
Kids faces are closer to the dog's face and usually they are sticking it right in the dog's face. Biting isnt great but if I was the family I would get ayrainer/ behaviorist to figure out why it is happening. Op this 8snt your business so just stay away |
If your child ends up being bitten, it will be entirely your fault at this point. You know the situation. |
Owners can't control their dog OR their kid? Hard pass. |
Animal Control should be involved by now unless someone is lying.
When he was 14 and riddled with arthritis, our dog accidentally nicked my husband’s nose while they were rolling around in the ground. DH’s Dr was obligated to report all animal “bites” to animal control. An officer showed up at our house the next day to find out what happened, make sure our dog was fully vaxxed, and said our dog couldn’t leave our house/yard for 10 days. She came back at 10 days; all was good. Either way, OP, the dog needs to be away from kids and with a highly experienced owner. |
Yes, dogs can bite kids if approached from behind which is why you never let the dog and kid together unsupervised. You should insist the dog is in a crate or behind a gate when you are there. |
