Gift ideas for 9-10 year old girls?

Anonymous

My recently turned 10 year old likes all the things on this list, but she also LOVES lego friends and still regularly plays with Barbies! She asked for a certain Barbie for her 10th birthday. I think this ENTIRELY depends on the 10 year old!

Anonymous wrote:Not Barbie. And probably not Lego Friends. My six year old would love these, but my 10 year old would view as baby-ish

My 10 year old is asking for these types of things for Christmas:
Slime and putty
Cool water bottles
Lotions and makeup items
Squishmallows
Converse shoes
Art supplies (sharpies, glitter glue, duct tape)
Drawing pads and journals

Stickers and fidgets are also popular.

1) Water bottles
2) Slimes...brands like Snoopslime, Dope slime, Peachybaby slime
3) Fuzzy cozy pajamas
4) oversized sweatshirts and hoodies
5) Belt bags, pouches that say things like "stuff"
6) bath lotions, skincare stuff
7) squishmallows
8) bands for watches and fitbits
9) jewelry
10) art stuff, bracelet making
11) sports equipment, clothing for their chosen sport (or dance)

This is a great list as the mom of a 9 year old who has been attending a lot of bday parties lately! I would also add that anything Taylor Swift related is hugely popular - friendship bracelets, shirts, bags etc. have been the biggest hit at recent parties

Definitely not Barbies for this age!

My 9 year old would hate anything TS related. A generic friendship bracelet kit would be great but a TS t-shirt would be donated. I would avoid a very specific interest unless you know the kid.

+1 My DD8 would also be really disappointed with anything Taylor Swift. Unless you know the kids are fans please skip.

Craft supplies (nice pens/markers, journals, adult coloring books, bookmark making supplies)

Ear muffs, Earrings, bracelet making accessories

Accessories to decorate her room/bed area like a clip on reading lamp in a cute color, a floating shelf for decorations, posters.

A skateboard

My 8 year old would like all of these. My 10 year old would like all of them except the craft supplies (she's not much of a crafter) and already owns a skateboard.

Another idea is a Buddha Board. Took a risk on it last year (it’s $30) and my 9 yo daughter really likes it. It’s really cool. We’ve also had fun with a clay tool set from Amazon. My daughters have loved a neon sign in their name that companies on Amazon do custom. All her friends ask us to get it for them for their bdays. You have to order early, because it’s always a bit later arriving than they say. And they’re pricey, depending on how long the name is ($30-$50). My friend bought my girls Bogg copycat bags and they use them all the time. A UMBRA jewelry stand was a great gift that my daughter received that has been invaluable. Cool bookmarks or little lanterns/lights. Last summer, my girls and the neighbors (we have a pool) spent the entire summer playing in cheap mermaid tail bathing suits from Amazon. They also liked plastic mermaid tail flippers. They also love little Bluetooth speakers that they can dance and sing to. They also pretended they were waitresses in a restaurant they owned with little order pads and aprons that I got from Amazon that are for real waitresses. They enjoy crafts, so blank canvasses, fabric paints, etc. were all used.
