Neighbor’s rooster is really frustrating

BTW, I support backyard chickens and think the rules should be looser (IMO, should allow a handful of hens on residential lots if your unpaved yard is above a certain size) but fools with roosters ruin it for everybody.


I didn't see the 7-acre rule on the page you linked. Could you quote the text? I saw a permit requirement if the lot is under 2 acres but that is not the same as a prohibition. Curious because I have a friend with chickens and a rooster on a less-than-2-acre lot in Fairfax.

Under 2 acres is going to need an exception. To keep a rooster, this had better be a bonafide agricultural operation.
