Car seats and ubers

I would do it in terms of low accident risk assessment, BUT not in terms of "social awkwardness of a driver rejecting the ride". I take the car seat or walk/take public transit.

It's not socially akward, in addition to the safety concerns, it's a waste of time to be told no and end up walking anyway.

2 miles? Why not just walk?

+1. Stick your kid in a stroller and walk. Or get a babysitter. Or just take your car seat. Do not get in a cab or Uber with a 3 year old without a car seat. I have 3 kids and live in DC and I would never imagine doing this. I’ve had too many terrifying cab rides.
