Hi, foot buddy! I don't have a lot of great suggestions for you; I wear Birk Gizehs all the time (I live in a warmer climate). I also have large feet that challenge as well. I have some Aerosoles that are okay. |
Sorry - I should have been more clear. I don't have high arches. I have flat feet. |
We really are foot twins. I’m on vacation this week and have brought two pairs of Gizehs (one casual and one “dressy” for going to dinner—lol) plus a pair of running shoes. Will look at Aerosoles! |
OP here. Thanks everyone for all your suggestions! It would have been better if I clarified I need ones on the less expensive side, but I wound up buying Aetrex Fiji that are on sale. $50 is pretty steep for me, but I am hopeful they'll hold up a long time. Thank you again! |
I wear Archies. Haven’t tried the Birkenstock flip flops but l do like Birkenstocks in general |
Hi! I’m the PP who recommended Aetrex. Glad you liked them enough to try. I am seeing Fiji on sale for $36, just FYI. I’m accessing the site from Delaware right now. |
Yep, I saw that too - it's just with tax and shipping it came up to $50. They were even more expensive on Amazon. |
Olakai or fit flops |
Another vote for Vionic Tide- if budget tight,, try them on for size ( I have to size down) and then look all year on eBay and Poshmark. I put them on first thing in the morning in lieu of slippers and am never barefoot. I had plantar fasciitis for over a year that included cortisone shots. I wear Hokas, too. My brooks don’t have enough padding. I used to like Fitflops but I sort of turned my ankle a bit on their mild platform and after that the shoe felt loose and unstable. |
I love my Archies. So comfy. I wouldn’t wear them though for long walks or touring. More like wear around the house or running errands type of shoe. |
Those are ads. Also get advice from an orthopedic not a podiatrist. |
These are what my podiatrist recommended. |
OP, I have recurrent plantar fasciitis. Want to recommend aerothotics as a good and well priced line. |
Fit Flops (any of the ones that have thicker soles and that mention microwobbleboard in the description) |
