The mods -- all of them extremely mediocre white people -- have banned any and all comments about crime, because I guess if we don't talk about crime it'll just go away? |
They are bootlickers with zero self-awareness. |
I’m pretty surprised they banned all crime
posts. DC is in the news for its extremely high murder rate and there are a lot of other systemic issues. I don’t buy the explanation that “we had to delete too many racist comments.” I think they were influenced by the people who believe that all discussion of crime is racist because it makes people think about crime. I’ve had run-ins with these types before. They try to exert social pressure to silence discussion about crime. |
Welcome to Reddit, a discussion* forum about your community.
*if the topic is acceptable. |
They -- and the more persistent commenters on that sub who complain whenever there's a crime post -- are coming at this from a position of *extreme* privilege. Because crime hasn't affected them personally, they don't think it's a problem and are completely baffled that people want to talk about it. |
They just deleted a post featuring a photo of a MPD officer pulling someone over and ticketing them for having one of those license-plate covers people use to avoid paying tolls/camera tickets.
JFC. |
Racist make every crime about race while antiracists try to downplay race factor behind the crime. People need to learn things as they are, not as black or white we want them to be. |
Crime isn't a race problem, people of all races get effected. Making it a race issue is actually very racist. |
Also crime prosper when parents, community and authorities aren't interested in solving them but avoiding them, they need to do their jobs. Hiding your head in sand isn't going to protect your body. We aren't ostriches. |
It’s more than that. There are “progressives” who believe that talking about crime and tracking crime reports is racist, and they even attack black sources of information (eg the Twitter accounts like Realtimenews.) They affirmatively want to censor discussion of crime. |
ha ha I saw that. |
This! Reddit is heavily censored. There are a decent amount of articles both one reddit and off reddit discussing it's censorship. |
Also have you messaged the mods to ask them why they are deleting so much? |
What are you talking about? That post is right here: https://www.reddit.com/r/washingtondc/comments/15wqii6/miracle_mpd_officer_pulls_over_car_for_license/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=1&utm_term=1 |
that’s even weirder. so only violent crime posts are deleted? |
