APS Democratic candidates- where do they come from?

There was a recent ruling in Missouri about how a federal employee running for nonpartisan school board broke the Hatch Act, because the Republican party contributed $500 each to certain candidates running. My problem with the caucus is in a heavily Democratic county, like Arlington or Alexandria, you can only run with the backing of the Democratic party. It prevents any Executive office federal employees forom running as they cannot caucus. I am a lifelong Democrat, but I don't believe in a one party system in Arlington and Alexandria.

Welcome to Arlington where many of us feel the same! There was a good push to remove the caucus a few years ago and the party seemed split. Alas the votes were overwhelmingly to keep the caucus.

Right. What's particularly egregious is that this was an ACDC organization thing, which means mostly party activists with little or no investment in APS. If it were general parents voting, the caucus would have been vanquished.
