What's Wilmington Delaware like?

Excellent reference. You beat me to it.

I lived there for a few years - in the downtown area. We really liked it. It's walkable, decent food (albeit not fancy), and the nicer neighborhoods are really nice and a bargain compared to around here. If our jobs took us there, we'd be fine living there.

I’ve lived in the D.C. area and am currently living in the Wilmington area. We love it here! Some of the advantages we’ve found are:

The atmosphere is more relaxed.

Housing costs are much lower and we have a much nicer home here than in D.C. because salaries in our fields are at least the same as in D.C.

Commute to work downtown is much shorter. (As in D.C. there are also many jobs in the suburbs.)

There is much less traffic in general.

If you’re interest in them, private schools and country clubs are easier to get into and less expensive

New York is an easy trip on Amtrak

There are many more nonstop flights from nearby Philadelphia Airport than from DCA or IAD to Europe and the Caribbean.

"Delaware people are very odd"
Please elaborate....
