How long would you expect high-end bed linens to last?

I got a sheet set (flat, fitted, pillow cases) that was purchased for $150 from Bloomingdales, 12 years ago and they're still going strong. My other sheets that I've had for 5-10 years and not as expensive have sprung holes.

Surely not high-end but we've had Marimekko sheets from Crate and Barrel since 2001. I had to toss out one fitted sheet that got worn throuogh but all the others (had two sets originally for our queen bed) are in very good condition.
