It's Karl Racine's Council

I think Racine will cruise to election as Mayor in 2026. Bowser won't go for a 4th term. I bet these two struck an agreement - he won't primary her in 2022 as long as she clears the deck for him in 2026. No need to fight!

He'll spend the next 3 years making gobs of money in the private sector and getting his donors in line.

Yeah that’s a good point, though runs the risk that someone else emerges in the next 4 years. If his plan is to run in 26, then why not serve another term as AG, where he was highly respected and has a national profile?

Ah, good point.

Robert White ran to be the front runner in 2026 and I think he accomplished that goal.

Without this run he'd be in no position to run and win in 2026, but there's no way to tell the front runner. Clearly he'll have to contend with McDuffie and possibly Racine next time.

McDuffie is screwed (and I'm glad). After getting kicked out of the AG race, he has no platform for visibility. He is not well liked in Ward 5 (I find it hilarious that it's the only Ward Spiva, who is the one who got McDuffie ousted from the race, won) and has limited visibility citywide. He has a few powerful supporters in the business community but that's it. I think he will be a non-entity in 2026 if he decides to run.

Yep. McDuffie screwed up big time. Can’t believe he lost his seat this way.
