I don't think I've tried the Tony pizza - but I would go and try the bagel place too - let us know the name PP if you can ![]() |
Pupatella's is very wet. Delicious but wet. |
Cosign on Bacios and Menomale for DC |
Idk what wet means here but I’m willing to find out ![]() |
Imo, pietanza is better than pupatella. |
In DC, I like Wise Guys for NY style and Side Door for Detroit style...and they are only a few blocks apart in Navy yard so if you have a group or you want leftovers (Side Door only does whole pies) you can do a taste test! |

Frank Pepe.
CSNY. Wiseguys. Andy’s. Vace. Santini. |
+2 for Menomale. |
Sounds perfect then. I like a drippy, oily, floppy NYC style slice that isn't stiff and dry like cardboard. |

I personally think the best pizza in NoVa is the pizza we make at my house. ![]() |
Out of the Fire in Easton, MD |
None of it. Having grown up in a NYC suburb, there is simply no real pizza in this area. Yes, there are some wood-fired, brick-oven type pizza places that are decent. But I can make that at home at not pay $18 for a pie that feeds one hungry person. I personally do not even think of anything in this area as pizza. Most of it is characterized by too thick crust and gobs of cheese and ketchup style sauce to make up for the poor quality ingredients. |
Md - we love the pizza at Gregorio’s (we’re in Potomac). |
