It’s really a great way to do the library in miniature while not sacrificing actual choice. I’m trying to remember some of the esoteric stuff I’ve found and loved that way, stuff from aisles I never would have gone down. |

I know it’s just a single book recommendation, but I’m LOVING Candy House, by Jennifer Egan. It’s a sequel (of sorts) to Visit From the Goon Squad, which I also adored.
You don’t need to read Goon Squad first, though if you do, there will be fun references, for sure. Overall, it’s beautifully written, thought-provoking, and truly creative/original (non-linear but connected - each character/POV is a gem.) |
