You must have a short term memory. The NYT ran coverage of the Mai Lai massacre where US troops, shot and bayoneted upwards of 500+ civilians.

US troops also raped scores of women at Mai Lai..

Hopefully the Russian gov't punishes their soldiers like US troops who perpetrated My Lai were punished.

The Russian government isn't that competent. Aside, I'm sure they'll have a social media post up soon blaming this shelling on the Ukrainians, and many of their ignorant populace will swallow it.

They're being sarcastic.

The USG punished basically no one for mass murdering civilians and raping children as young as 10 years old at My Lai. The only one who got punished got his sentence commuted by the PUSA, and that was only after 3 years of flimsy house arrest for murdering 22 people.

And here you are, wanking for Russian mass murderers.

What's even worse is that (if I'm not mistaken) this family was fleeing during an agreed upon evacuation corridor, where Russians had promised not to shell for a period of time so families could evacuate.

In that photo, the mother and two children were killed immediately. The Ukrainian soldiers then attempted to save the life of the father.

That’s correct. There were two attempts at a ceasefire so Mariupol could be evacuated and the Russians violated both of them.

You must be my age or something. I think a lot of the grown up parents on here were not alive in those days. I'm used to seeing pictures of the Holocaust and piles of bodies but they are black and white, clothes look old fashioned, and the cars are old. It's so surreal to see this new picture and see a minivan in the background.

This is horrible but did they get shot or was it a mortar or something that was fired

It doesn't matter. See the above post about it being an agreed upon safe evacuation zone for families. Even if the Russians were shelling from a distance, they knew this was a time when civilians would be trying to move through that area. It's a war crime.

Murderous savage Russian criminals … the senseless cruelty towards innocents and destruction while spreading lies about Ukraine and NATO and not honoring any cease fire promises is completely unfathomable …

God bless Ukraine and may they prevail against all this evil.

They need to publish those images so we all know what (and who) started the next world war

We can't let this go on. We need to hack the Russian networks again, tell them they have 8 hours to surrender Putin or we'll start bombing everything in Russia to try to find him ourselves. And for Gods sake start enforcing a no fly zone over Ukraine. Innocent people and children are being slaughtered while trying to escape. And they're all begging for help. If there was ever a valid cause for war, this is it. How awful.

Can any international forces start to involve themselves in certain ways due to war crimes?

Ukraine has brought a case against Russia at the International Court of Human Rights, the International Criminal Court, and the UN Human Rights Council. Whether Putin will care about any of this is doubtful.

According to BBC, Red Cross says that the evacuation route out of Mariupol was mined.

And apparently, they’ve done this particular move before. I’m glad that we can stop pretending these are all innocent Russian kids. Send the POWs out to clear the road.

War is hell, stuff like this happens. It sucks but it’s reality. Stuff like this goes on in Africa all the time. This went on in Syria and other places. What, you’re upset OP that someone presented the reality of war and your Starbucks sipping lululemon wearing friends and you can’t take it? The Russians are no moNaters than anyone else.

And Putin definitely isn’t Hitler. Hitler was much worse and Stalin even more so. Putin is weak by comparison as he doesn’t have the capability nor the desire to start a full world war like the previous two.

The reality is this will get worse before it’s better.

By not removing Trump from office, it sent the signal that Ukraine was a toy to be played with.

Hold US officials accountable for their complicity.

Exactly. Trump has blood on his hands personally for the murders of Ukranians. They are at Putin's hands and Donald Trump's hands.

Trump jerking around their aid and being just a bully on those calls. “Ya want this? Huh? Ya want this ya want this? “

Totally guilty and GOP DID NOTHING. worse, they enabled the feeling of power Putin felt. They are accountable for these sweet children and all the other deaths and misery in Ukraine.
