I think there’s too many wood tones and I like the stove to be connected to the sink by a counter top. |
I think it is stunning. |
The article says that is the H's smoothie station. There must be a closer sink. |
I think it’s gorgeous, and those wood floors are to die for |
I agree with another PP that I'd like the sink to be connected to the range with a countertop. And I'm not in love with it. But I find that it is very rare that I need to fill a huge pot of water and then haul it to the stove. I'm glad I didn't do a pot filler in my kitchen because it just wouldn't have gotten much use. |
Who takes a photo with a red purse on the floor by the stairs! There is nothing stylish or editorial about that photo!
What ethnic group doesn't know putting your purse on the floor is just letting money fly out of the purse/door! |
Kitchen islands never seem the right height. Ir maybe it's the bar stools that are too high. Wouldn't the average person be hunched over trying to eat while sitting at the island?
Not a big fan of how spaced out the appliances are. Walking all around the kitchen to get stuff done. I like the refrig and oven adjacent (separated by a small counter) and the sink within reach or only a few steps away. |
Agree with the PPs that the kitchen seems incoherent and too much, which undercuts the simple informality of the intended vibe. Also can't stand that they've mix inset and overlay cabinetry. Why? |
I like the vegetable basket and the high ceiling. |
What? Why? |
I like all of it aesthetically but it's not practical. For such a huge space there is very little storage. If I had that much space I'd have more cabinets and a walk-in pantry or at least a floor to ceiling pantry. |
I agree that the floors are nice, but I would not die for them. I would not even sustain a minor injury for them. Kitchen overall is fine. I feel bad that everybody is dunking on it. It’s definitely nicer than my kitchen, particularly after my toddler has had his way with it. Hate the weird shiplap though! Why can’t people stop doing that? |
It's lovely and light and airy, but agree that it will be dated quickly. It's also way too big, but YMMV if you live in a 6,000sf house. PPs have pointed out that the sink and stove are pretty far apart, looks like the refrigerator is as well. A big kitchen is nice but it becomes inefficient walking all the way across a large room back and forth as you cook. I recall something about the design triangle for your sink, fridge and stove being desirable. This isn't that.
So, overall very pretty but not practical or timeless. |
The other sink is right next to the refrigerator. I also think the way they cut the photos make things look further apart than they really are. |
I don’t see overlay cabinets, only inset.
I think it’s odd that the two sides don’t match. One side has light cabinets with shiplap, the other side is green. No thanks. |
