Nora - If you spell it Norah, then anytime outside of casual conversation, she’ll have to give her name as “Norah with an h”. I have an unusual nickname, so I automatically give my name as something analagous to “Lalo, it’s like Larlo without the R”. Not doing so is more painful, because people automatically assume the familiar version is correct and get very confused when you introduce anything different. My medical records have also been lost countless times at both doctors’ offices and pharmacies.

Nora/h is a nickname for Honora/h, a popular name across Ireland several generations ago.
