More people bailing from GWU

Now my nurse quit all of a sudden with no warning whatsover! I am right in the middle of a cycle and she gave me no indication, so now I'm up the creek. No one is answering the patient appointments line this morning either! WTF is going on over there?

Thanks, PP, that's right--I called several times. Will keep trying. But really, people are dropping like flies over there. It would be great if they would give their patients at least a warning they are about to quit and arrange for someone else to take over for them.

It doesn't sound like a good idea to start a cycle at GW if you haven't already! Its too important, too emotionally draining and too expensive!

Id agree on holding off starting a cycle there until things calmed down. I was a patient there up until dec. dr. Gindoff was my RE. I was about to start IVF in January and decided to get a second opinion at shady grove. I was back and forth on who to use for my IVF and then heard Gindoff had left out the blue. I decided to stick with Shady Grove and am glad that I did.

It's Kymberly (or if it's not her you're referring to, then she's ALSO gone). No heads up. The receptionist had the gall to say it was Kim's responsibility to tell patients she was leaving. What?? I just sent an angry email to Dr. F and my new nurse. I was supposed to start injections tonight and this has completely rattled me and my confidence. Really not sure what to do since my cycle has been paid for, meds ordered and paid for. I probably have to go through with this but I'm really unhappy.

If it's any reassurance, my nurse (melissa) quit right before the start of my cycle in addition to giving me incorrect information about the start of it. Christine (Chrissy) was my nurse after Melissa and she was amazing.

Melissa was not the sharpest tool in the shed, got stuff wrong all the time, and was incredibly cold, devoid of compassion, even harsh about my miscarriage via ectopic. Add to that, she was pregnant at the time--that gave her no extra compassion for someone who was losing a pregnancy.

Sorry for your loss, PP - I didn't have any of those experiences. I just received incorrect information about the start of my cycle and I chalked it up to her knowing she was on her way out and not caring or having too much going on. That said, I instantly received a new nurse - and love(d) her

I liked Catherine a lot. I had asked her to be the one to call me with results but she usually just let whoever had the job for the day do it. They run on a lean staff there.

If I was doing it again, not sure I'd opt for GW--and I wouldn't go there now for sure. Too much as stake to be subject to a mistake due to short-staffing.
