No matter what we do, our dog pees all over the dining room. We have an area rug in there and I would like to replace it with something fairly nice, but easy to clean. At this rate, we may need to replace the rug yearly. Any recommendations? Thanks in advance! |
Are you soaking the pee areas with Nature's Miracle? The dog can probably smell the old pee.
Ikea, Overstock and Bakersfield have inexpensive rugs. Try putting a plastic barrier under it. |
Great, thanks for the recommendations! I've used so much Nature's Miracle, I should buy stock in it, but he still continues to pee in the same places. |
Buy a yellow one ![]() |
Buy an indoor/outdoor rug. You can take these outside and hose them off. They will have a lot of cute ones now that the patio furniture is coming in stock. Check out Target, Ikea, World Market.
Buy two, if you can get a good price. |
What I would do in your situation is to work on getting the dog to stop peeing in the house. I wouldn't bother getting a new rug until that was accomplished. |
Get your dog a belly band to wear when he is loose and you are at home. Keep him confined when you are out.
Get a washable, indoor/outdoor rug. I have a braided one I got from L.L. Bean for a tiled room my dogs frequently muddy up when coming in from outside. |
Agree with PP that you need to work on getting dog not to pee in house, or that dog gets confined to basement/laundry room/etc.
I would not let my dog pee all over the room where my family and I eat. |
