Blowing Your Nose At The Table

Am I the only person disgusted by this? My mother does this all of the time whether we are eating at at someone's house or a restaurant. It completely ruins my appetite.

No. Hearing snot move is disgusting, even when it's your own.

I think people who do this have a problem. They are deliberately trying to gross out other people. They are passive aggressive and have unresolved anger issues. At least the people I know who do this have/are. Ew.

Especially doing it in public. Ew.

Rude but I have seasonal allergies four months a year. Leaving every time I need to blow or wipe nose means leaving table every couple minutes. Plus sometime the sneeze comes up fast and can't get up in time. If it is a contagious cold tho I try not to go out to eat or sit near others bc thy cld get sick. I tell people when it is just allergies so it is less gross.

When I get full or eat something spicy, my nose runs. Isn't turning away and doing a discreet dab with a tissue less obnoxious and gross than sniffling? There's no way to control a continuously runny nose by going to the bathroom.

20:37 - You are disgusting. I have the same problem. I excuse myself from the table every single time I blow my nose. We are not talking about discreetly "dabbing" with a tissue. We are talking about blowing your nose. Which you know makes a noise, no matter what. Are you proud to be raised amongst hillbillies? Ew.

I agreee. I have always thought it was about as bad as farting in public. Really wish people would leave the room and go blow elsewhere.

What??

What on earth is wrong with blowing your nose? It sure beats sniffing, which is disgusting.

I'd much rather someone blew their nose or wiped it than sniffles it back up their nose. Yuck.

My dad blows his nose at the table and sniffles while we are watching TV and it is gross. He also farts whenever he gets up from the couch and he never washes his hands after using the bathroom. My dad is very nasty but I still love him.

This is me too. It's not feasible for me to go to the bathroom every time I need to blow my nose during allergy season. I'm sorry, haters, but you're just going to have to hate me on this one.

PP here. Np, you don't understand, I can not eat without having to blow my nose. I can not go for more than five minutes without having to blow my nose. Constantly.

So I either do not go out to eat, OR I decide to go to the bathroom to blow my nose rather than expose the rest of the restaurant to germs. I am considerate. I am not from here.

Why would anyone not go to the bathroom to do this? Its disgusting, there is no excuse. Are you really that lazy? Or just spiteful? Thats immature.

Only in D.C. is it "nuts" to be considerate.

Honestly it doesn't bother me.
