Infertility Support and Discussion
|
I've recently done 2 medicated cycles with IUI that failed (one with Clomid, one with Follistim). I produced 6 mature eggs on the follistim, but still no luck. The drugs were very, very hard on me. My partner and I have decided to try a couple of unmedicated cycles with acupuncture and TCM (herbs). Has anyone had success at 40+ with natural cycles and IUI? Am I wasting my time trying to conceive unmedicated? By the way, I'm 40 with no known fertility issues except for my age and that my partner is female. I have a 6 year old who was conceived on the first try (when I was 33), with IUI and Clomid.

OP here - forgot to mention - my FSH has ranged from 8.3 - 10.5 over the past few months.
Not with IUI, but I conceived and carried a healthy baby to term at 40 (no interventions). But it took MUCH longer than the first 3 times at 36, 37, and 38.
I had my child at 42 without drugs. I had several m/cs but finally got pregnant and it stuck.
I did my second unmedicated IUI . I am 41 also using acupunture and some massage therapy to relieve stress. So I am hoping this time will work or I will try hormones next time. I just feel that I am running out of time
I had a healthy son at 41 without any medical intervention. Miscarried the first pregnancy early (9 weeks), but got pregnant both times fairly easily. Of course everyone is different, but if you're looking for confirmation that it's not impossible, there are lots of moms 40+ like me. Good luck!
