i saw some gnocci at giant - on the shelf, no less - and am wondering what sauces are best with gnocci - in restaurants, i'm always been given very creamy or very tomato-y sauces - how would arabiata go with gnocci?

| Pesto all the way!!! |
|
I agree that pesto is the best.
Also, this recipe is amazing: http://www.eatingwell.com/recipes/skillet_gnocchi_with_chard_white_beans.html |
| gotcha. thank very much! |
| I do a sage-brown butter sauce that is delish with gnocchi. The sage gets crispy in the butter. |
| Walnut sauce. |
+1 This is THE way to eat gnocchi. |

There was an earlier thread where someone posted this recipe:
http://www.eatingwell.com/recipes/skillet_gnocchi_with_chard_white_beans.html and the subsequent posters went on for pages about how delish it was. I'm heading to the market soon and now I'm inspired to buy some gnocchi! |
Recipe please? |
Agree with one caveat, although I still like pesto better! If you are a nursing mom, sage is well known as having a negative effect on your milk supply. |
http://www.kevinandamanda.com/recipes/dinner/5-minute-brown-butter-chicken-and-crispy-sage.html And the gnocchi cooks so fast. This is such a fast meal. I will add red peppers and shallots and put the gnocchi and chicken on a bed of spinach. |
Thank you. |
I love this! And the kids gobble it up too. It is very quick to put together as well. |
| My favorite with gnocchi is a really meaty bolognese... I figure if I'm eating a potato pasta, I'm going to go all out decadent. I LOVE GNOCCHI |
Someone posted that recipe a year ago and I actually started a thread thanking that OP for introducing me to it. It would never have caught my eye if I'd seen it on my own, but it is DELICIOUS. |
