New to area--where is best place to buy fish? NOVA or DC preferred..
Fishery on Connecticut Ave in upper NWDC, or Black Salt market on MacArthur Blvd in Palisades (maybe 10 minutes from Key bridge).
Southwest waterfront fish market.
Not OP. Anywhere in NV? It is difficult to be a NE transplant w/o extremely fresh fish! Thanks.
There was an article on Washingtonian on this topic. The local chefs buy fish from Whole Foods for their home cooking, not the fish market. It is all about how long it takes to get the fish from catch to store.
If you're willing to drive to River Falls Seafood in Potomac Village, they have excellent fish.
We always got great fish from Cannons in Georgetown on 31st and M.
Another vote for Black Salt. It's the only place I've found that has reliably fresh, sustainable fish. Whole Foods fish is a joke - 1/2 the time it's mislabeled.
A&H in Bethesda has excellent, and often hard to find, fish with the best prices around. Nice folks too.
Anyone in McLean? There's so many small markets there I'm hoping someone has the scoop.
I would bring a mini cooler and ice packs. |
American Seafood on Lee highway in Arlington. It's right at Old Dominion Dr, so not far from McLean.
