Fun things to do in St. Louis/St. Charles

Anonymous
I am going to St. Louis for a week over Thanksgiving, and we will be staying with one of my husband's family members. They live in St. Charles so its a hike from the city. However, I always start going a little stir crazy out there, and need to get out. Does anyone have any fun suggestions for activities in St. Charles County, St. Louis, or Chesterfield area that would be enjoyable for a 2 year old and 5 year old?

We've done the zoo, the City Museum, and Forest Park,. Will probably repeat these activities again, but wanted some new suggestions as well.

Thanks!

Go to the top of the Gateway Arch! We fit this into a weekend we had in a St. Louis suburb for a family event this summer, and my DD is still talking about it.

I grew up going to St. Louis for holidays. My favorite place was always the "magic house". I just googled and it's still there!

I am sure it has changed in twenty-some years but my clearest memory is a twirly slide that went from the top floor all the way down. Fun!

Galleria Mall in Ladue-great great shopping. Anhueser Busch-they have tours of the factory and the stables of Clydesdale horses. AB is the in Soulard Market area-sort of like Old Town, fun area to walk around. The Magic House in Kirkwood is great fun for children. Union Station in downtown is great for shopping and eating and is interesting to visit. The Central West End is full of shopping, restaurants, and GORGEOUS homes, and located near the top hospitals in St. Louis. Forest Park, located near the Cental West End, has a fantastic outdoor skating rink, I loved skating there when I was a child. FP also houses the Zoo.

I was born and raised in St. Louis and my husband grew up in the DC area. He loves St. Louis! He would move there if I agreed We'll be there for Thanksgiving as well.
