Is Tom Tom the way to go? If so which model?

Thanks.

We have a Garmin street pilot and love it. it got stolen and we went and bought the exact same one. only use it in the car so didn't need the smaller nuvi.

Anyone else? I'm looking for one too.

I have a tom tom and a garmin nuvi. I love the nuvi, my husband likes the tom tom. Get which ever is cheaper at the time, unless you need it for a particular place. The Tom Tom does not cover all of Europe and the Garmin 600 series does. We bring it on our trips.

I really regret not getting one that speaks out the name of the street. With mine, you have to look at the screen to see the street name-it doesn't have a voice system that tells you "turn right on Y street." In busy traffic, that's a really useful feature. I was pretty clueless when I first bought mine.

I use garmin nuvi and am totally happy with it.

I got the Garmin Nuvi for Christmas last year and love it! My dad actually had to use it this past week because he went to Maine and while trying to update info on his Tom Tom it died... He said he would most likely be buying himself a Garmin (granted his Tom Tom is older and needs an update but he overall liked the Garmin better). Good Luck!

Thank you all so much for your responses. I just bought the Gamin Nuvi 770 becasue it includes Europe and we travel there every year.
