WIS & IB PYP

We're looking into WIS, and language immersion aside, wondered how the IB primary years program differs from a traditional/classical elementary school program. We have a very independant learner who would be transitioning from Montessori, and wonder if IB might be an easier shift. Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks in advance!
